Rodolfo C. Simon, age 82, of Somerville, NJ died peacefully on Sunday July 16, 2023. He was born in the Philippines on February 9, 1941 to his late parents Natividad (Constantino) and German Simon.
Rodolfo was raised in the Philippines and attended the University of the East in Manila, Philippines earning his undergraduate degree in accounting. He was a licensed CPA in the Philippines. He married the love of his life Editha (Mendoza) on July 15, 1967 and two weeks later the newlyweds moved to the United States settling in Manhattan, New York. After three years in New York City the newlyweds moved to New Jersey and resided in Fords, NJ, Bridgewater, NJ, Bernardsville, NJ and since 2005 they called Somerville, NJ their home. Rodolfo continued his education and received his MBA from Fordham University in New York. He worked many years as an Accounting Analyst starting his employment at WR Grace in New York, ER Squibb in Lawrenceville, NJ and later at NJ Transit retiring in 2003. Rodolfo loved automobiles and especially loved the cars that he owned. He babied these cars and kept them in pristine condition. He enjoyed being part of the Filipino United Laboratory Group with his wife Editha. Rodolfo was an avid vacationer who took many Royal Caribbean Cruises with family, and he also enjoyed land travel on his many trips to Europe. He was a parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church in Somerville, NJ. Rodolfo was a loving husband, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend to many. He will be missed by all who know him.
Rodolfo is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Editha, his sisters Miles Simon, and Zenaida Digal (brother-in-law Rick), sister-in-law Susan Reyes (brother in law Benjamin), sister in law Minda Mendoza, and nieces Margaret Almario and Christine Negron.
Rodolfo is predeceased by his parents and brother-in-law Rolando Mendoza.
All are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday July 20, 2023, at 9:00am at Immaculate Conception Church 35 Mountain Avenue Somerville NJ. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery 145 Mt. Airy Road Basking Ridge NJ. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Cuoco Funeral and Cremation Services funeral home 10 West End Avenue Somerville, NJ.
