Maria Eugenia Diogo

BRIDGEWATER-  Maria Eugénia Pereira Diogo, 84, passed away peacefully at her home in Bridgewater, NJ, on Saturday, June 4th, 2022. She was born in Labrengos, Covões, Portugal and came to the United States in 1978 and resided in the Ironbound Section of Newark until April 1st, 2022.

She worked in the Ironbound until she retired at the age of 63. Her greatest passion was her 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Devoted and beloved mother of Rosa Lourenço (Manuel), Dilva Correia (Manuel), Gina Vilar (Valdemar), António José Lobo (Suzy) and Ana Warren (Darren); cherished grandmother of Ana Filipa, Ricardo and Alexandre Lourenço, Jennifer and Stephanie Monteiro, Krystal Costeira, Pedro and Gina Vilar, Brianna and Sabrina Lobo, Daniel and Andrew Warren; dear great-grandmother of Tiago and Tifany Fernandes, Eric, Gustavo and Yasmin Lourenço, Milo Lourenço, Oliver Franco, Alyssa Gonzalez, Kaylee Rittenberry and Liam Morrison.

Was married to the late José Pires Lobo, daughter of the late Herculano Rodrigues Diogo and Maria Emília Pereira Dias, dear sister of América Calado (Armando, deceased), Lusitano Diogo (deceased) (Eva), Dulce Santos (Manuel), Andreza Pereira (Manuel), Celeste Moreira (deceased), (David, deceased), Afonso Diogo (Gigi) and Cidália Guedes (Manuel).

Also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

The Funeral Mass for Maria Eugénia will be held on Friday, June 10th, 2022 at 9 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 85 Jefferson St., Newark, NJ 07105. Cremation private.
