Helen Elizabeth Welsh, 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 2, 2019.   She was born on November 21, 1923 in Copper Hill NJ to her dear parents Elizabeth (Syrup) and Herbert Errickson.   During her lifetime Helen resided in Copperhill NJ and North Plainfield NJ before moving to Middlesex Borough NJ.  She was a graduate at Overlook Hospital Nursing School and was employed as a registered nurse for most of her life.  Helen was an avid Bingo player and loved playing at the Casino’s.  She enjoyed decorating her home, gardening, cooking and enjoyed preparing meals for family gatherings.  Helen also loved shopping and especially enjoyed her time shopping at the Dollar Store.  She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.   Helen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.   She will be remembered by all who knew her as a kind, caring and generous woman who will be sadly missed. 

Helen is survived by her loving children, Hervey Lake (wife Dorothy) Dunellen NJ, Russell Lake (wife Theresa) Middletown NJ, William Lake (wife Stacy), Henry Lake (wife Jodi) Hillsborough NJ, Patrick Welsh (wife Karin) Dunellen NJ, Elizabeth Durko Bound Brook NJ, Madelyn Lake Middlesex NJ and Caroline Jones (husband Wayne) Middlesex NJ.  She is also survived by one sister, Adeline Larken of California.   Helen will be sadly missed by the joys of her life, her 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.      

Helen was predeceased by her parents, her husband Walter Thomas Welsh (April 28, 1978), son Thomas Welsh (October 19, 2017), a daughter Helen Faye Barry (September 30, 2016) and four brothers.   

Viewing will be on Wednesday February 6, 2019 between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial is private.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Helen’s name to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org.
